Childhood memory is a part of our most joyful life once in our
life time. I have a lot of sweet and bad memory which is I think the most
unforgettable and joyful past time that i love to recall. When I was a little
girl, I have a lot of attitudes that always make my parents worried about me. I
am kind of naughty, curious, stubborn and careless kid and some of these
attitudes still are a part of my self. I still remembered my family always used
to move residents and each of the residents we lived craved different stories
and memory. The most unforgettable place that I used to lived was Kg. Air ,
small residents area behind SRJK © Chung Hwa KK and near to Karamunsing Police
Station. My family rented a house there and I had a lot of childhood friends
and majority of them were my cousins. The memory that I am going to share with
was happened in between 5 to 12 years
old. Every time I heard Ella feat Joji
song “ Bersama-sama” its reminds me to this place and this place, craved me a
lot of sentimental value memory that I hard to forget.
When I was a
kid , I loved to played Masak-Masak ,
Police and Burglar, Hide and seek , Power rangers game, Paper dolls and more.
Most favourite cartoons were Power Rangers, Doraemon
, Tom and Jerry and Thunder Cat. When we
lived at Kg. Air, our living room had a big space. Certain of my childhood
friends had no television. We watched cartoons together. Sometime I chase out
my friends. I didn’t let them watch television. Some of them will cried and beg
me to let in. It was so funny and kind of stupid kid action.
Most painful
memory was, when I was 5 years old I had a car accident. Like usual, me and my
childhood friends played at the street on evening which was the street became
our playground and there were rarely car passed there on evening. That time, there were also a few neighbours
played basketball on that area. Suddenly, I didn’t realize a car hit me and I
was lie down on the road and the Proton Car was on the top of my feet. My childhood
friends surrounded me, and my neighbour helped me .He forced the driver of the
car to bring me to Hospital Queen Elizabeth and hold him to take a responsible
on me. The situation was kind of panic and honestly I did not felt scared or
pain but when I saw a lot of blood rushed from my feet, then I cried. My parent
wasn’t at home, just my late grandmother and my aunt. When my late grandmother
heard about me, she had a heart attack and brought to hospital too. The car
accident gave me the most unforgettable bad memory and craved me a big scar on
my feet forever. It took me half an year to walk perfectly or without walk
stick.
I still
remembered when I was little girl I always played Tikam-Tikam which was exactly liked lucky draw game at the grocery.
It just only Rm 0.10 and we picked one number .If we lucky we will get prizes
or money. That time all kids like addicted to play Tikam-Tikam and it was including me. Because of my addiction to buy
Tikam-Tikam , I had guts to stole my
mother money , Rm1.00.My little sister saw it and told my mother. When I get
home, my mother scolded and punished me. She asked me to raise both of my hands
i think like half an hour. I cried loudly and luckily, father arrived and
rescued me from the punishment. Since from that, it was really work out and
make me afraid to steal again.
One of my
naughty childhood friends, we used to played burn the straw. When we played it,
we felt funny when we saw the straw melted. I didn’t know how come my naughty
friend suddenly pricked the melted straw on my neck. I felt pain and cried. He
ran off when I chased him. Then , I get home , cried loudly and complaint to my
mother. My mom put toothpaste on my neck to reduce the pain. Since then, I have
a scar on my neck forever. Talk about toothpaste, I still remembered, me and my
little sister took bath early in the morning. Then, we realized, there were no soap,
no shampoo. Finally, we used toothpaste as soap and shampoo. When I recall it
back, I felt so funny and how childish we were.
I also had
minor scar on my leg. I had it when I jumped from my house roof but unfortunately I landed at a
near the big woods. The woods cut me on my leg and I cried. But I didn’t tell
my mother because I felt scared. That time we played Power Rangers Game and we
always flew together from my house roof.
There were a part of my house roof which was not so high and we used to play
flying there. I always played as the yellow ranger.
We moved to
Sembulan when I was in grade 3. I still remembered, me and my sister always
used bus as a transport to school. One day, my sister absents her school and I
was alone. That time I was in grade 6, I walked down at KFC Headquarter
building at Sembulan . Suddenly, I saw a big dog sleeping at the street. I felt
scared and there were no body there. I stand there and seek a stick as my protection.
I saw the dog was sleeping and I took brave step to cross the dog. Suddenly,
the dog awake! I was so panic and scared. Then, I ran as fast as I could and
the dog stand up and chased me. I cried and yelled for help. I felt so lucky , the
security man was there and rescued me from the dog. I can felt the dog was
nearly had me. It was just few steps from my behind. I felt so lucky that day. If
there were no one rescued me, I didn’t know what will happen to me.
I used to drowned at my late grandmother house
at Semporna and been rescued by my uncle and also I used gasoline to wash my face
which was I thought water. My late grandmother put the gasoline bottle on the
water rack. My face was so oily and all my cousins laughed at me. But, it was
still funny when I smell a gasoline it will reminds me to this accident.
Talk about
sweet memory , I only highlighted few of my sweet memory. When I was in
Kindergarten, I won fashion show. My teacher appointed few of her pupils to
participants the event. I had been chosen and my father made me Kadazan
Costume. I wore it on my fashion show. My mother decorated my face with a
makeup and finally I won the contest. I won Rm50 and Dumex hamper. I am also
very active in dancing. I used to join my class in dancing and until now I
still kept the dance costume. When I see these costumes, it’s really reminds me
about my childhood. One of my sweet memory I learned to ride bicycle when I was
8 years old and my mother bought me Red BMX bicycle and my first swim was at
Semporna,my cousin taught me how to swim and I swim perfectly only in 2 weeks.
Last but not
least , I felt so funny and happy when I recall all my memory. Kg. Air will
always be part of my Childhood memory. Last time I visited that place, it was
fully developed and everything was gone. Even though it was gone, the memory I
have will be always in my mind and never fade away. Childhood memory is most
worthy and valuable in our life.
